When you’re thinking about hiring a skip bin, there are so many different types and sizes! It can be really confusing trying to figure out which bin size is right for you. Do you need a small bin for light waste or a large bin for heavy waste? Do you need a 4 metre bin or a 6 metre bin? We’re going to help you answer those questions below.
We have 3 bin sizes to help you with your waste needs:
- The 4m3 bin is our most popular choice by far, and for good reasons. It is a great, practical size, and we find that it is big enough for most people’s needs. So, if you’re in doubt this is the way to go. It has a weight capacity of 600kg, which we find is sufficient for most loads. However, if you have some particularly heavy items, like some tiles or rubble, it can be upgraded to 1,000kg for an additional fee.
- The 6m3 bin runs a distant second to the 4m3 bin. Bigger is not always better, and it’s important to remember that this bin is for bulky but light items. For example, these bins are perfect for green waste after your landscaping job. In contrast, you’ll quickly run out of the 900kg weight allowance if you try to fill it up with heavy items like carpet or timber.
Not Too Heavy Please
All bins are not made equal, and it’s important to recognise when we can’t help you. There are lots of benefits to our mobile skip bins, however, if you have a particularly high volume of waste, or lots of heavy waste, you may be better off with another option. Common items that are heavy include bricks, tiles, rubble, concrete, dirt and plaster.
So there you have it! A brief overview of the different types and sizes of bins. Hopefully this has helped you figure out which bin size is right for you.
